10 Video Games That Hold Your Hand WAY Too Much
2. God Of War Ragnarök
Sony's other big, first-party handhold-y offender is the otherwise brilliant God of War Ragnarök, which has been dinged ever since release for the tendency for young Atreus to blurt out puzzle solutions before you've even had a moment to take in the area.
If you've got a younger sibling, it's tough not to be reminded of them trying to backseat-game you while playing a game in your youth, refusing to give you the opportunity to work things out with your own brain in peace.
And though players can technically solve this by just turning the dialogue volume down to zero during puzzle sections, it's still a less-than-ideal faff given that you have to then re-raise the volume level once you're back to regular gameplay.
Hell, even Atreus' own performer, Sunny Suljic, expressed frustration with hearing his own voice too much while trying to solve puzzles in the game.
Surprisingly despite Ragnarök releasing almost a year ago, Sony Santa Monica still hasn't released a patch to tone down Chatty Cathy over here.
