10 Video Games That Just Got Delayed
4. Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is one of 2025's most anticipated open world action-RPGs - or rather, it was.
Originally designed as a prequel to MMORPG Black Desert Online, the game's scope eventually grew to the point that it became its own standalone story within the Black Desert universe.
The game was first announced to the public way back in 2019, and developer Pearl Abyss had it pencilled in to finally release in Q4 2025 - over the next few months, basically.
But the developer just announced that Crimson Desert has now slid to Q1 2026, a decision made due to timeline complications involving matters such as offline distribution, voiceovers, and console certification.
Pearl Abyss added that they're not yet ready to confirm a more specific release window, so it's probably reasonable to expect the game to release on the later end of this projection - say, around March.
Crimson Desert is going to be one hell of a game if it gets anywhere close to matching the hype, so they should probably take just as long as they need.
