10 Video Games That Just Got DELAYED

7. Crysis 4

Marvel 1943
Crytek

Something of a Halo parallel, The Crysis series kicked off a lot later than its poplar stablemate (2007), but has had its own array of successes over the years, with three main series entries plus Crysis Warhead and three remaster releases.

Fans have justly been hyped for the arrival of Crysis 4, which developer Crytek announced back in January of 2022 (nine years after the previous instalment!). 4 promised to bring the first-person shooter into the ‘20s, making best use of all the technological innovations seen across the past 10+ years to make it an event all unto itself.

Unfortunately, like many other game developers, Crytek has had a rough few years, with studio closures, financial losses and layoffs. The layoffs in particular have impacted their upcoming slate, with around 15% of the workforce lost, and a series of streamlining measures to enable them to remain financially solvent (@ PC Gamer). This means Crysis 4 has been delayed indefinitely – but better that they put it on the back-burner than release a half-assed game that lets fans down and potentially puts an end to the studio altogether.
