10 Video Games That Killed Off The Wrong Character
3. Vol'jin - World Of Warcraft.
What is the problem with the MMO genre and their inability to make smart decisions? Worse yet what is wrong with the Horde and its inability to hold down a good Warchief?
Way back at the end of Mists of Pandaria, Vol'jin was named Warchief of the Horde and all was well for a time. He was a worthy successor to the fan favourite Thrall and held enough of his own personality to lead the Horde in a different, yet smarter direction.
So obviously Vol'jin died and named Sylvanas Warchief.
This was so out of character that he could have turned to the camera - winked - and told every player that Blizzard don't know how to write games anymore. Believe it or not that still would have made more sense to the lore than this.
If Vol'jin's death was replaced by literally any other Horde leader everything would have been better. Maybe with someone like Sylvanas killed off instead, Battle For Azeroth wouldn't have turned out like it did. If only somebody could go back in time and show Blizzard the error of their ways before it was too late, like some sort of Azeroth themed A Christmas Carol.
