10 Video Games That KNEW You'd Try To Cheat

1. Banjo-Kazooie - Grunty's Code Vengeance

This one is a little harsh. Rare's original Banjo-Kazooie game looks all adorable and cartoony from the outside, but try and mess with certain cheat codes and the game will bite back at you with absolutely no restraint.

The platforming adventure features a plethora of cheats that players can use to gain certain advantages, from increasing their blue egg capacity to breaking down obstacles. Some of these are innocuous enough, but Gruntilda the witch will have serious beef with you if you use any of the exploits that alter her castle.

She won't yell at you, attack you, steal some of your items, or do anything else like that. No, she'll actually take the drastic measure of deleting your save file.

Use two of the offending cheat codes, and you'll receive a warning that your hard-earned progress will be erased should you use a third. At first it seems like a joke, but nope - enter that final code and it's time to say bye-bye to your valuable save file. Rare knew people would use the cheat codes, and this is how they planned to deal with it?!

Fortunately, if you're playing the game on Xbox 360 then this doesn't apply, but N64 users... beware of that old hag Grunty.
