10 Video Games That Only Became Great After Updates
4. Rainbow Six Siege
The Rainbow Six series has always been a big hit with players. With a big following and a long history of good games, it has become a major part of the Tom Clancy franchise. That is why when Ubisoft released Rainbow Six Siege on the 1st December 2015 it was highly anticipated.
The tactical multiplayer combat and destructible environments gained a lot of praise from critics, however the shine wore off quite quickly. There was just very little to do. With a small map rotation and unpopular progression system, the player base began to decrease.
Ubisoft reacted to this problem quickly. They adopted a “Game as a service” model and began to release free downloadable content packs. This led into them creating “Seasons” for the games where they constantly added new challenges, agents and other updates.
This post-launch care has led to the game being referred to by some as the best multiplayer experience on the market.
