Spider-Man: Web of Shadows boasts one of the most ambitious and intriguing narratives of any Spider-Man game, with its opening sequence actually taking place during the game's epic climax.

The intro cinematic shows off Venom and his symbiotes attacking Manhattan and Spidey being reunited with Mary Jane before being knocked out by a shadowy entity.

Roughly 30 minutes before the end of the game, we finally return to this opening, with Spidey even breaking the fourth wall to comment, "Well, that brings us up to date."

At this point, it's revealed that the unknown assailant attacking Spidey was actually a symbiote-infected Black Cat, and the rest of the game sees Spidey teaming up with his fellow heroes to stop Venom's assault.
