10 Video Games That Were ROBBED At The Game Awards 2018
2. Detroit: Become Human
PS4 exclusive, Detroit: Become Human was one of 2018's very best games. It's a gorgeous title from French developer Quantic Dream and it told a touching story of human and robot division in a futuristic Detroit.
Detroit: Become Human is Quantic Dream's best game yet, with jaw-dropping visuals, great characters, and a story that branches in so many directions that you will kick-up a second playthrough right away.
David Cage, the director of Detroit, as well as Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, often gets a hard time for his ham-fisted storytelling. What Cage doesn't get enough credit for is managing to get you to overlook those cheesy and overwrought moments and appreciate what's really there. Cage was nominated for Best Direction on Detroit, but lost to God of War.
Detroit was also nominated for Best Story, and Bryan Dechart was nominated for Best Performance, for his role as Connor. It's a crying shame that the game didn't manage to pick-up a single award, especially when it did all of those things so very well. It's a great game that deserves to be played and have its praises sung.
