Zone of the Enders is a genuine cult classic franchise, with the first game was releasing in 2001.

Sadly, like the series as a whole, the first game was over way too quickly. HowLongToBeat.com lists the average time needed to beat the main story at one minute under five hours.

Adding the extras only kicks in about a half-hour, and that's about it. The game almost plays like an arcade title, seeing as a player could plop down on the couch and finish it way too quickly to make sense. Some players knocked out the whole game in about three hours, and that's without rushing.

Fortunately, Zone of the Ender has a great, albeit short, storyline.
