10 Video Games To Celebrate Your Birthday With
2. Pokémon X And Y
Pokémon is another series that loves to take advantage of the DS' console clock. Diamond and Pearl were the first games to start recognising the player's birthdate, as rivals Dawn and Lucas would congratulate you on the special occasion - the same as HeartGold and SoulSilver. Black and White introduced a special Toy Cake from the Pokémon Music Hall's owner.
There are also weather changes related to special events, including your birthday. The rare Diamond Dust weather effect replaces snow for sparkly snowflakes, while some misted maps become unfogged.
Yet it is Pokémon X and Y that really took things to the next level. Upon entering a Pokémon Centre, special Pichu confetti will rain down on the player, complete with a birthday cake on the monitor and a unique Pokémon birthday remix. The Pokémon Nurse will also congratulate you.
This event has become a staple in all the Pokémon games after (excluding the Let's Go games), and honestly, we're all happy that's the case.
