10 Video Games To Celebrate Your Birthday With
1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Hideo Kojima is back again with another birthday Easter egg. It's not the first time Metal Gear games have acknowledged the player's birthday. In Metal Gear Solid 2, if the player sets their birthdate to the same date as the console's, then a Happy Birthday message and cake will appear. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, however, goes to the extreme.
At the beginning of the game, the player can enter their birthday in the hospital. If Snake returns to Mother Base on that birthdate, then a new cutscene plays. Snake exits the helicopter and sees no one in sight, with what appear to be gunshots in the distance. In actual fact, the Diamond Dogs have put on a surprise birthday for Snake, complete with fireworks, a birthday song, and a Diamond Dog birthday cake.
The base's staff will also wish Solid Snake a happy birthday as he walks around, and there's an added surprise if Snake has a high-enough bond with the sniper assassin Quiet. Happy Birthday, Boss.
