10 Video Games Too Scary To Finish

3. Outlast

If your idea of a good time is running through the dark, using night-vision on a video camera to see the horrors that you'd rather not see, then Outlast is for you. In this game, you will see some STUFF...and that's putting it politely.

By stuff, we mean graphic and brutal depictions of violence and gore, mutilated madmen that will chase you relentlessly and a LOT of bare flesh. It's not a game for the squeamish and is one that left us crying in the dark too many times.

There's nothing worse than creeping around the pitch-black corridors with your night-vision turned on and then the battery runs out. Oh, yes. You'll need to keep finding batteries so you can top up your camera when it dies. This means as much as you might want to, you can't dawdle in the dark and watch in night-vision.

Outlast knows what it's doing when it comes to scaring its audience. It plays on many fears - the dark, claustrophobia, insanity, body horror and mutilation, blood and gore - it's all in there. Once again, it's a major nope.
