10 Video Games Too Scary To Finish

2. Resident Evil: Biohazard

Resident Evil has been around a long time, and it consistently reinvents itself in new and exciting ways. Resident Evil: Biohazard was the first game in the series to move into first-person. It was a move that had fans feeling anxious because it was so far removed from all we knew about the series so far. It even added VR for even more first-person scares.

As soon as the game started, all the anxiety over whether the game would work disappeared. Instead, it was replaced by crippling anxiety that prevented us from coping with what we were up against. In this game, we play as Ethan Winters, who is searching for his missing wife, Mia. We pick up where he has tracked her to a spooky old mansion in Louisiana. When he arrives, he ends up finding more than he bargained for, and we find ourselves questioning: WHY?!

Biohazard is by far the scariest of the series, and the first-person perspective puts us right in the middle of the action, which makes it feel more personal. We get a first-hand view of the rotting house and its unkempt grounds as we run for our lives from some of the most disturbing stalker enemies in gaming. Aside from these stalkers, we have to deal with generic monsters known as The Molded.

Whatever you do...stay out of the basement. Just turn the game off and run away.
