10 Video Games Where You Can Betray EVERYONE (And Get Rewarded)
3. Multi-Stage Betrayal - Baldur's Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you full agency over how you roleplay your character, which naturally involves making decisions that screw everyone over.
At several stages of the game, you can choose to betray the people who trust you, and quite commonly, the game will actually reward you for it!
There are quite a lot of moments to list here, but the most prominent example is the betrayal of the druids and tieflings in Act 1 of the game.
Letting the Absolute’s forces into their camp lets you steal an idol that gives you permanent buffs to your nature and survival rolls and invite the fan-favorite companion, Minthara, into your party. On top of that, you can get some more goodies from both sides by looting their camps after the final fight, and if this is still not enough for you, you can choose to betray the Absolute in the later acts for additional rewards!
In general, if you want to maximize your treasure yield in Baldur’s Gate 3, you want to work with each side of the conflicts you enter until you get the option to rip both of them off for an even heftier reward.
It’s Betrayal Economics 101!
