At first, many assumed Minecraft was simply a passing fad. But after witnessing the sandbox title tapping into the zeitgeist of the gaming community, it was clear Minecraft was the next big thing. Any system that didn't have this money-making title was going to lose out.

But when Mojang's masterpiece was announced for the Switch, the news didn't exactly set the world on fire. I mean, it isn't the first time Minecraft has come to Nintendo.
