5. Undead King Jar-Eel - Dark Souls

The first Dark Souls still retains its place as having some of the best boss battles in gaming history - but one that was left out was Undead King Jar-Eel, who fans promptly founded by mining the PC version's leftover files.

Many rumours surround the idea of just who Jar-Eel is, from a protector of the Four Kings (who you do eventually fight), to a manifestation of Oscar, Knight of Artorias, the slain knight who gives you an Estus flask to continue on your journey in the very beginning.

Either way, if you're a Souls fan, you already know how intense and rewarding going toe-to-toe with humanoid enemies can be, and personally I'd of loved more showdowns that force you into learning patterns of attack and counter/parry-positions, rather than facing off against yet another screen-filling behemoth instead.
