10 Video Games With Insane Features You Never Knew

2. You Can Use A Microphone To Distract Enemies - Manhunt

Everyone was so busy marveling or recoiling at Manhunt's brutal violence that few stopped to try out the game's single-most innovative feature.

Rockstar's stealth-based survival horror game included microphone support for both PS2 and Xbox, allowing players to use their own voice to distract and manipulate enemies.

If it sounded like a fun added tool for the player to have, it could equally be a hindrance, as any noises - coughing, the phone ringing, or your kid brother screaming - would alert enemies to your position.

Despite the creativity of the feature, even reviews from many major outlets didn't bother mentioning the gimmick, though those that did generally lavished praise on it.

While Rockstar did announce the feature ahead of time and included mention of it in the game manual - the latter admittedly not meaning much - it largely fell upon deaf ears with general gamers, pardon the pun.
