10 Video Games With Stealth Missions That Are Totally Out Of Place
4. Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy)
When Fahrenheit hit the market in 2005, the novel adventure took the hearts of many by storm. Unlike most PC games, Fahrenheit is not about playing in the foreground; rather, it is about experiencing and continuing the story. So it's a shame that Quantic Dreams could not resist the idea of shoe-horning a stealth mission.
The talk is of course about the mission titled Chapter 10: "Hide and Seek", where after a heartfelt meeting with Lucas' brother, we slip into his childhood via a flashback and have to make our way softly through a military base.
Aside from having to avoid the lights and guards, you also have to deal with the additional slack off that is Lucas' brother slowing you down. On top of that, if you’re caught, it's back to the beginning of the level to try all over again.
All things considered, this mission is poorly designed and falls flat by doing nothing to move the story forward. Even after Lucas finds what he's been searching for, rather than a feeling of climatic achievement, the player is treated to a sweet pie of disappointment.
