10 Video Games With Stealth Missions That Are Totally Out Of Place
5. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
Every video game wants to be something special, something unique and unprecedented. But only a few games live up to their own claim. With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which appeared in 1998 for the N64, things were quite different: Nintendo completely smashed the template for what a game could accomplish.
No thanks to the strange stealth mission where young Link must sneak past the patrolling soldiers in order to meet Princess Zelda in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle. Given that the guards cannot be knocked out, you need to avoid them altogether or you risk being apprehended and tossed out of the castle grounds.
For our money, this part of the game should be have been completely left out or at the very least, the guards should have been given some sort of artificial intelligence. Of course they mustn't be too intelligent, considering the whole point of the castle courtyard section is meant to be comical. But anything to make it less a ballache would be fine.
