10 Video Games You Can Expect At E3 2020
6. Fable
We were convinced that Fable would appear at Microsoft's E3 2019 stage but that, unfortunately, was not the case.
The mainline Fable series has been dormant since 2010 - excluding the anniversary edition of the original - and a reboot has been rumoured for over a year now. Microsoft is in dire need of some exciting AAA exclusives for the next generation, and it's sitting on a beloved franchise in Fable. A reboot was inevitable but the original studio is defunct.
Based on the rumours, it seems that Playground Games, the developer behind the Forza Horizon series, is at work on the reboot. Much like the original developer, Lionhead, Playground Games is also British and therefore well-suited to craft the title.
It's an exciting prospect to think what a modern Fable game could be; like a mix between The Witcher 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. A beautiful, colourful open-world with skill trees and whimsical characters, it sure would make for a nice change from the drab and dire fantasy games we're used to.
We're disappointed we didn't get a trailer at this year's E3 but hopefully that means we're due a big blow-out at E3 2020. Fingers crossed.
