10 Video Games You Can Expect At E3 2020
5. Mario Kart 9
Mario Kart 8 is the best in the franchise history. And that's no small feat. considering how good Double Dash is. However, Mario Kart 8 came out five years ago on the Wii U, and we're well overdue the next instalment.
It's quite hard to underpin just how big and important Mario Kart is for Nintendo, it's neck and neck with Super Smash Bros. as the biggest franchise. Mario Kart 8 has sold over 16 million copies on the Switch alone, not including the double-digit millions it sold on the Wii U. That's an insane number of copies sold, and ensures that Mario Kart 9 isn't just likely but guaranteed.
Nintendo doesn't often release multiple titles in this vein on the same console, however the Breath of the Wild sequel proves this is a different Nintendo. So we say: give Mario Kart the Smash Ultimate treatment!
We wanna see more characters from other Nintendo franchises, including Samus and Ripley, Tom Nook, Zelda, Kirby, Fox McCloud, some Pokemon, and more of the Kong family. And, of course, we now want Banjo Kazooie as a playable character.
Seriously, how awesome would it be to play a Mario Kart with the likes of Charizard and Kid Icarus? Make it happen, Nintendo.
