10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Were Secretly Sequels

You'll uncover this connection by getting through Shadow of the Colossus, a game that sees you hunt down and destroy 16 massive Colossi in the hopes of reviving a young girl named Mono. At the end of the game, the protagonist, Wander, is reborn as a small child with horns that make him look suspiciously like an infant version of the titular character from Ico. This ending fully implies that Shadow of the Colossus is an unexpected prequel to Ico, a reveal that takes your breath away. 

There are theories that Team Ico's The Last Guardian is also connected, making the games a complete trilogy, although these links are far more tenuous. Who knows, maybe the upcoming Project Robot will have some unexpected connections too.
