10 Video Games The Fans Saved From Their Own Developers

9. Vampire: The Masquerade Is Patched For A Decade After Its Release

It€™s not uncommon for a fan or community to release a patch for a PC game; in many ways, the ability to do so is one of the biggest draws of the platform. What€™s not expected though, is for gamers to continue taking care of a game for 10 years after release. Yet that is exactly what happened with Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. As of 2015, the game is up to patch number 9.4. Included in it is nothing more special than some bug fixes and subtle tweaks, but what it represents is a decade€™s worth of communal effort. These updates fixed many of the issues that kept Bloodlines just shy of true greatness at the time of its release, ensuring that one of the most inventive RPGs of all time continues to be accessible for a new generation of gamers.
