That being David, voiced expertly by Uncharted's Nolan North in a much more restrained
performance, due to your interactions and heated conversations together it makes the fight between the two incredibly violent. Not only is David a fully-grown adult male and Ellie the younger teenager - putting the power in the former's hands in terms of raw strength - but as Ellie you've previously been through hell as his prisoner trying to get medicine to save Joel's life. So come the moment after an edge-of-your-seat game of cat n' mouse between the two in an abandoned restaurant, Ellie is pinned underneath as he attempts to rape her, only for Ellie to grab ahold of a nearby knife and absolutely go to
town on David's face. It's reminiscent of the 'toilet lid' scene from the first Saw movie that saw Michael Emerson's character get what we thought were his just desserts, and again here Ellie lets all her frustrations and primal anger out that's been building from the harrowing events prior, before Joel finally makes a late appearance.
