10 Violent Video Game Moments That Were Incredibly Satisfying
9. The Interrogations - The Punisher
There are few games that get the backs of the mainstream press up even before release quite like The Punisher did back in 2005. With the gaming industry still morphing through various phases and flirtations with the very depiction of violence itself, Frank Castle's first big-budget foray had the brilliant idea of mapping the amount of 'punishment' you could do to the right analogue stick. Of course this essentially being the version of the character from Garth Ennis' fantastically twisted Marvel MAX version, you could do everything from jam perps' heads in piano lids, dip their skulls in meat grinders and wood chippers, or just kneel on their spines while slapping their faces off the pavement - just holds barred mass murder at its digital finest. Overall The Punisher is a bit of a hidden gem these days, especially since publisher THQ shut down and left the rights to the character out in the open, but with solid Max Payne-style shooting and a narrative drive that ensured you were more than up for going all American History X on someone's face, it's just as eminently replayable now as it ever was.
