If you were one of the unlucky players to be graced with a bug that meant you lost your Cobweb Duster, you likely didn't consider it a big deal at the time. You won't be able to get all the collectibles, but not everyone wants to go around finding every pesky hidden item - so it's easy to realise it's gone and sort of shrug it off.
