10 Ways Rocksteady Should Have Made Batman: Arkham Knight
3. Ensure Season Pass Content Is Worthwhile
There's a lot to pick apart with the Season Pass offerings. For now, let's go with the idea that they're a good thing (hard to stomach, I know) as for Arkham Knight it allowed Rocksteady to keep making content for a number of months after launch, to - in theory - give fans a little something to chew on long after the base game hit shelves.
Thing is, from start to finish, it was handled poorly. Initially we got only the barest idea of what was being offered, as only vague descriptions of additional missions were released and detailed. Then, the pre-order 'bonuses' of Red Hood and Harley Quinn's mission packs could be completed in 15 minutes max. Following this, the majority of the Season Pass was costume or Batmobile racetrack-related, with the final 'Season of Infamy' pack - the one seeing the return of Mr. Freeze, Ra's Al Ghul and, erm, Mad Hatter - again having incredibly short missions.
It was less that Rocksteady wanted to continue fleshing out Batman's world and delivering fan service, and more that these missions felt siphoned off from the main game, their runtime conducive to a standard side mission, not standalone, purchasable products.
