10 Ways Sony Could Ruin The PS5
7. No New Franchises
Sony have absolutely knocked it out the park when it comes to exclusives this generation. Not only have they brought in new franchises and reinvigorated old ones, they've crafted some of the best games of all time in the process, setting the bar for single-player experiences going forward.
However, after all of this restructuring, we could be in for a whole generation of sequels. The likes of God of War, Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn have all established themselves as core Sony franchises, and they'll all inevitably enjoy at least one sequel on the PS5.
Obviously, these will still make for great games, but it could also result in fewer original titles coming alongside them. A new generation needs new ideas, but at the moment Sony's hands are full with sequels to established IP.
That will be fine for the first couple of years, but the company needs to keep producing original ideas to sustain the winning streak it's currently on - especially now that Microsoft has snapped up a whole bunch of teams to create their own original franchises.
