10 Ways To Make 2017 A Great Year For Video Games
7. Assassin's Creed Returns
Assassin's Creed has been... a mixed bag as of late. The last two games weren't really all they were cracked up to be, and the side scrollers Ubisoft put out are nothing more than filler.
It seemed like every year, the franchise was getting worse and worse, straying away from their great (yet confusing) story and just putting out games for the sake of money. Then Ubisoft did something almost unheard of - they took a year off.
Sure, we still got an Assassin's Creed movie (which has also bombed), but that's besides the point.
So where does the franchise go from here? If it was me, it's time to do a hard reset and start afresh - a new Animus subject, new countries and time periods to visit, and new ways to take out targets.
Maybe have a branching storyline depending on how you kill your targets like Hitman or Dishonored, or have a story where there are two different real life people vying for the same artefact - one a templar and one an assassin? Whatever they decide to do, it should be a good day to step into a new Assassin's shoes and take down some targets.
Also, if they can take back multiplayer, that would be great.
