10 Ways To Tell If World Of Warcraft Owns Your Soul

4. Raiding With Friends And The Addictive "Nerd Chills"

Regardless of your skill level in World of Warcraft, raiding with your friends and killing massive dragons is fun. When you make progress through a raid tier it's a good feeling to know you're improving as you defeat the enemies standing in your way. Although at times many bosses are a gear check (hello Patchwerk, old friend!), learning the mechanics of a particular fight can be as fun as it is frustrating. There's something about raiding with friends and getting into those clutch positions in boss fights that no other game can create. Although loads of people shouting down a headset to deafen you might seem unappealing, the hype around a boss kill is difficult to reproduce. As you see the bosses health get lower, the death count around you seems to increase, with everybody panicking and shouting for cooldowns that just aren't available, hoping for lucky critical strikes and procs that might just save the day.... Then the boss dies - voice coms erupt in rapturous excitement, you remove your hands from the keyboard and mouse...they're shaking as adrenaline floods your body. Can you feel that? Nerd chills, baby. Everything is alright with the world. You've beaten up a dragon, taken guild friendships to the next level and you feel phenomenal. Then you open the loot window: "Where's all the *insert your class here* loot?!" Oh well, there's always next week.
