10 Ways To Tell If World Of Warcraft Owns Your Soul
5. You Must Get The Best Gear Available
Let's face it - everyone loves big numbers. The more damage, bigger heals and higher mitigation you put out, the more badass you feel. It's comforting to smash an enemy upside the face and hit them for up to six digits word of damage.
In RPGs, getting powerful new gear is detrimental to character progression. You want to see the improvement your character makes as you equip your new weapons and armour. When it comes to fighting bosses, most people want to be top of the damage or healing charts to show off just how good they are.
World of Warcraft is no different. If you have Mythic quality epic gear, everybody knows that you're a good player. Well done to them. However, It doesn't matter whether you play casually or hardcore, you aim to get the best gear possible. For some, that is LFR quality gear, while others settle for normal or heroic.
The game has changed substantially in its 10 year history. Getting gear is obtainable for everybody and epics are no longer for the top 5% of players. It's an approach that's made getting gear manageable, but also so, so addictive.
