10 Ways Video Games Were Forced To Control Players

7. This NPC Stops You Jumping Off A Bridge - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Witcher 3
Nintendo

One of the many great joys of video games is the ability to do dangerous things without the fear of suffering any real life harm.

All the same, Nintendo makes family-friendly products and would rather not encourage their young player base to experiment around with throwing themselves off bridges just to see what happens.

And so in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players who attempt to fling themselves off Proxim Bridge in West Necluda will be met by Brigo, a Hylian who patrols the bridge and attempts to protect it from monsters.

Upon witnessing you preparing to go for a dive, Brigo will beg you to think about what you're doing.

If you keep trying to jump, he'll continue to plead with you to consider the value of your existence, and mention the shock he'll suffer at seeing you yeet yourself to your demise.

That's... strangely wholesome, and better yet, if you head over to Brigo again after coming down from the ledge, he'll offer to chat with you for a little while. What a guy.
