10 Weak RPG Companions You Can Secretly Transform Into LEGENDS
2. Martin Septim - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
In the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, you play as the hero who stops the incoming Daedra invasion, becomes the leader of every guild imaginable, and finally ascends to godhood as the new incarnation of the Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath.
And yet, all this said, when it comes to who actually defeats the main villain of the game, it's not you who's responsible. It's actually Martin Septim, aka the scrawny and inconspicuous monk whom you have to find and protect.
Yes, the whole game revolves around Martin, as underneath his humble religious demeanor, he is secretly the previous emperor's only living child, and his destiny is to become the new ruler of Cyrodiil.
You spend the main story helping him reach that position, and although Martin may not be a fighter, by the end of your long journey together, his Septim bloodline allows him to transform into a dragon and single-handedly defeat the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon in combat before banishing him back into Oblivion!
If you heard Martin could do that when meeting him for the first time, you would have never believed it, but that's exactly what makes his ascension so satisfying.
