6. The Sad Story Of Red Dead Redemption's Norra Hawkins
As if Red Dead Redemption wasn't plagued with enough creepy ghost stories, even before the Undead Nightmare DLC dropped. Rockstar's open-world western has inspired as many rumours about weird stuff to be found out on the plains as the GTA titles, where people routinely claim to have happened upon ghosts, UFOs, and bigfoot. In the case of Red Dead Redemption, the eerie sight of one Norra Hawkins is one that actually exists and it's all Rockstar's fault. The character was originally intended for a mission where you help her find her missing dog, but they cut that out so now the character immediately dies when she spawns in the game world. Seeing a woman appear and immediately collapse is weird enough in itself. The mission she sent you on was pretty strange, too, since this was a game where you hunt outlaws for the US government so they don't kill your family. Going and finding some lady's dog in return for a double-action revolver and some ammo seems rather trivial.
