10 Weirdest Levels Cut Out Of Video Games

7. Final Fantasy XIII Was Supposed To Have A Zoo

You can't really argue that Square Enix's sprawling RPGs are stingy on the content. But even the Final Fantasy series cuts stuff out from time to time €“ which might beggar belief for those who've sat through games of Tetra Master and that long cross-dressing episode in the seventh game €“ and it's often weirder than the content they leave in. For context, Final Fantasy XIII's story revolves a civilisation in the sky whose government begins purging members of the population they think have come into contact with the world below them, which forces main character (and former soldier) Lightning to fight against the totalitarian regime she was trained by. It's pretty heavy. So the fact that the game had a series of amusement parks feels like cognitive dissonance as it is. The fact that one was originally supposed to include a zoo (how did they get animals up there?) is just icing on that particular bizarre cake, as is the fact they cut Lightning's house, which was going to have a park inside it. Yes, inside it.
