10 Weirdest Unlockable Characters In Wrestling Video Games

4. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (WWF War Zone)

Anxious to show off its then-groundbreaking levels of in-game customization, the developers of 1998's War Zone found themselves going a little Easter egg crazy.

Not only did they include the aforementioned ring girls - as well as the no-named Trainer from the game's Training Mode - as playable characters, they also went headlong into brand synergy, bringing in fellow Iguana/Acclaim series regular Turok, the dinosaur hunter who'd made his N64 debut the year before.

If you had access to GameShark, you could unlock Turok with a simple code. If you didn't have access to GameShark, you were out of luck.

It's still unclear why anyone would choose to play as Turok, since he shared the exact same move set as The Rock while looking like a bad Tatanka. Really, the only thing Turok was good for outside of a nice inner-branded crossover was agitating your friend who always managed to choose The Brahma Bull before you got a chance to select him.

If ya smell what Turok is cookin'.
