3. A Night To Remember - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an RPG that's bursting with things to discover within every corner of its gigantic map. Between battling dragons and exploring dungeons, the Dragonborn can likewise take part in a selection of strange side quests. Notable examples include talking to a dog, solving a vampiric murder mystery, and entering the mind of a mad emperor. However, the most absurd part of this game comes in the form of the side quest A Night To Remember.
Essentially Skyrim’s version of The Hangover, this exceptionally silly quest begins when chatting to a stranger called Sam in any of the game’s taverns. He’ll challenge the hero to a drinking contest, offering the adventurer a staff if they win. After out-drinking Sam, players will then wake up in a temple and be scalded by an enraged preistess for having trashed it the night before.
From here this quest sees players retrace their steps from that evening to discover the madcap drunken antics they got up to. These include stealing a goat and marrying a hagraven.
After finally tracking Sam down, it’s revealed that he's been Sanguine, the Daedric Prince of Debauchery all along, ending this quirky quest on a fittingly strange note.
