Coming from the same developers behind Limbo, Playdead’s Inside is just as enthralling and mysterious as the studio’s previous game as it sees an unnamed boy travel across a dystopian landscape and sneak inside a research facility.

Between mind-control devices, murderous robots, and underwater experiments, deciphering this game's cryptic plot is just as confounding as interpreting any deeper meanings behind the hauntingly beautiful imagery that's carefully woven throughout the entire game. However, it’s the jaw-dropping final chapter of this game, titled The Escape, that sticks out in the minds of everyone who’s played this remarkable puzzle platformer.

Upon venturing deeper into the facility, the protagonist eventually enters a containment tank where they attempt to free a grotesque fleshy blob known as The Huddle that’s kept inside. However, the boy is consumed by the mass of limbs, at which point players take control of it as it makes its grand escape.

Breaking through the final wall, The Huddle rolls down a hill before stopping beside the seashore. Unsure if the creature is even still alive, the credits roll, and players are left baffled about what they’ve just seen.

Whichever way players choose to make sense of these surreal events, Inside's conclusion remains unfathomably weird.
