10 Worst Overwatch Characters - Ranked

Backstory: As is the case with many of the characters in Overwatch, Mei doesn’t have a particularly meaty backstory. We know that she’s a scientist, and that she’s able to freeze things. That’s more or less it. She’s definitely a character we’d like to see more about, potentially in future comics or shorts, but as it stands it’s stretched a little far and thin. 4/10

Abilities: She can freeze both herself, and enemies. She’s surprisingly aggressive too. Her ult freezes all enemies within a certain radius, and can be absolutely devastating if followed up correctly. She has a giant ice wall that she can place too, allowing her to reach higher ledges with ease (as she travels up on it), or completely block enemy movement.

The issue is, that she can completely block ally movement too. Both her healing ability (that creates a block of ice), and her ice wall, are often used by unsavoury players to lead them to their doom, halt progress, or to throw the game entirely. Especially in ranked, this is a very bad thing. The mere fact that she can be used in such a negative way immediately warrants a low score. 2/10

Design: Mei really does look like a scientist equipped to deal with the cold weather. Her little robot friend is pretty cool too. Her other skins leave a lot to be desired, recolours and legendaries alike. Her Year of the Rooster skins were an improvement, but she could do with a little more choice regardless. 4/10
