10 Worst Video Game Choices You Regretted The Entire Playthrough

3. Forcing Blackwall To Serve - Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age Inquisition
BioWare

Blackwall is one of the more interesting companions in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Despite initially posing as a noble Grey Warden, halfway through the story, it is revealed that he is actually an impostor named Rainer, who decided to impersonate the Warden to escape his death punishment.

Although his crimes may sound serious, it is clear that Blackwall regrets them and seeks atonement. That's why you get the option to get him out of Orlais prison after he's arrested, to give him a fair trial.

You can also choose to use your influence to get him back to serve you without any punishment, but you will quickly come to regret that choice.

As an Inquisitor, you may simply tell Blackwall to return to being your companion. The choice seems like the best option to keep Blackwall around, but in reality, the order will turn him permanently bitter and hostile to you, as he will consider you a tyrant that selfishly abuses their power.

It's actually better to offer Blackwall to be punished, as this will let you tell Blackwall that part of his sentence is fulfilling his duty in slaying Coryphaeus, allowing you to keep him in your party without him getting mad.

Don't deny a glutton for punishment his right to be punished!
