10 Worst Video Game Ports Ever

1. Street Fighter II (ZX Spectrum)

You can't blame anyone for trying to port Street Fighter II to their console. Being the most celebrated fighting game of all time, it's understandable why everybody in the gaming industry would want a cut of the action.

But know your limitations, guys. Unsatisfied with Street Fighter II being on almost every system under the sun, Capcom decided to bring Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and the rest of the gang to the ZX Spectrum.

Now, many players were justifiably cynical how Street Fighter II could possibly function on an 8-bit platform released in 1982.

And it's simple: it doesn't. Even though the fireball-blasting brawler is renowned for its fluid gameplay, accessible special moves, and smooth combos, the ZX Spectrum version has none of that.

Moving around is so slow and imprecise, it's a joyless experience for anyone. The blinding colour palette is reminiscent of Nintendo's Virtual Boy, since looking at the screen for too long is headache-inducing. Although there's no music, that's probably a good thing, as one can only imagine how the creators would've butchered the iconic tunes.

Unless you want to see Zangief and E. Honda moving at minus 10fps and have your retinas fried to a crisp, avoid ZX Spectrum's Street Fighter II at all costs.
