6. An Insane Combo For Beginners - Jet Set Radio

Jet Set Radio is another example of a game that severely overestimates the skills of its new players.

The tutorial for this cult classic title works similarly to other skateboarding or skateboarding-adjacent games. The first level provides you with an NPC that performs a few tricks, and then you're supposed to replicate what they have shown you to progress to the next objective.

It sounds simple enough, but there is one big issue with it—the difficulty of these stunts spikes up way too quickly for an introductory level.

You start off following a few simple steps, but afterward the game will expect you to perform progressively lengthier combos until you unlock the final challenge, in which you have to get a perfect 50-move combo!

This is no small task, especially for someone you were teaching the very basics of your game just a few minutes ago! The expectations are seriously way too high for beginner players, and it also doesn't help that on the Steam version, the game gives you incorrect button prompts for the spray action!

It's like learning how to do a half-assed breaststroke and then being instantly dumped in the middle of the ocean.
