10 Worst Video Games Of 2019 (So Far)

10. Rage 2

RAGE 2
iD Software

A baffling misfire, Rage 2 first announced itself off the back of an Andrew WK-led trailer and gameplay that looked to mesh liquid DOOM-style gunplay with a Mad Max-lite open world.

The result was a clash of ideals; the latter's scattered approach to mission design meaning that every time combat was about to find a sweet spot, it was over.

There you were off to the next mission, forced to drive an overly floaty and unresponsive vehicle across bland, "Apocalypse 101" environments, occasionally injected with bright pink and green neon strips, seemingly to tap into the 80s revival zeitgeist we're seeing across the board right now.

Annoyingly, Rage 2 at its core is a phenomenal shooter. But when you're asking us to scour environments for "hidden lore" that could literally be anywhere, cutting fights short and kicking us back to checkpoints through cheap difficulty spikes, it turns a sequel no one asked for in the first place into something you should just avoid.
