10 Worst Video Games Of The Last Decade
4. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
Resident Evil certainly had a mixed decade in the gaming world. Unlike the movie franchise, which was slowly petering out to a messy, unsatisfying conclusion, the original Capcom series started and ended the decade strong with 2012's Revelations, 2017's RE7, and 2019's RE2 remake. However, the decade was also jotted with failures.
Whilst 2017's Umbrella Corps certainly deserves a dishonourable mention for trying to redesign the series towards a more Call of Duty like direction, the blatant swing and miss can at least be appreciated as ballsy. Meanwhile, 2012's Operation Raccoon City was a game that promised so much and simply delivered so little.
Similar to the hype of Colonial Marines, fans were excited about the prospect of reliving the events of RE2 and 3 from the perspective of the villains and potentially rewriting history. However, little did they know is the game's positives stopped there.
Whilst Corps was a swing a miss, Raccoon City was a lazy tap to the pitcher, with unimaginative, boring level designs, poor outdated graphics, characters that oozed boredom and brought nothing to the table, and terrible AI that sends anyone wanting to play solo straight into a metaphorical Nemesis.
