10 Xbox Exclusives That MUST Come To PS5
4. South of Midnight
Why we want it: South of Midnight oozes style. Its stop-motion animation, deep Southern Gothic setting, and surreal vibe feel like output from former PlayStation first-parties Studio Japan or Concrete Genie’s Pixelopus. Visually and tonally, it stands out from the typical AAA fare - and that uniqueness alone makes it worth rooting for.
PlayStation players, known for embracing story-rich, emotionally resonant games, would likely connect with this one more than Xbox’s traditional core. It didn’t make much noise at launch, but a second wind on PS5 could unlock the audience it deserves.
How likely is it? Wait-and-see. Xbox has tested the waters with low-risk Game Pass exports like Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush, but recent reports suggested those efforts weren’t the financial wins in any respect either.
South of Midnight fits into that same category - artistically interesting, but commercially niche, despite the studios attempt at more action-focused gameplay.
If Xbox leans further into publishing prestige indie-lite fare across platforms, it could sneak onto PS5. But if the numbers don’t add up, it may stay locked behind the Game Pass vault.
