100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil
82. HUNK's Face
Despite wearing a gas mask most of the time, HUNK's face isn't exactly a mystery. It's appeared a few times, although mostly in strange places.
The most obvious, and certainly the one that you could most likely call canon, is the unlockable epilogue from Resident Evil 3: Nemesis that features HUNK aboard a helicopter. However, it's a very dark, small and pixellated image and it can only be seen in-game by beating RE3 eight times.
A conflicting look at HUNK's face lurks in the files of Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. Infamously, there was a lot of cut content and unfinished ideas in the game, and a scenario that featured HUNK was amongst them. Players with a GameShark managed to unearth two different HUNK character models, one with and one without the helmet - showing a similar but certainly much greyer looking man.
The most interesting, bizarre and certainly most extensive look at HUNK however comes from the Resident Evil toy line from Moby Dick, where the U.S.S. soldier was given a removable mask, revealing his face to the world. What a strange choice.
Then again, the Moby Dick figures had several strange but rather neat choices, including a figure based on Rebecca's N64 Resident Evil Zero look (complete with beret), which would be redesigned by the time the game finally arrived on the GameCube.
