100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil

Well, sort of.

In Resident Evil Village, as players enter the main hall of Castle Dimitrescu for the first time, there's a blood-curdling scream heard echoing down from the other side of the building. Ethan, and players, both react with fright. Dead By Daylight fans however reacted with glee the first time they heard this.

That's because this is a reference to Meg from Dead By Daylight and this exact scream sample comes from that game's opening FMV. 

DBD superfans took to the internet to speculate about the two franchises crossing over and, sure enough, just a month after Village's release Behaviour Interactive dropped the first reveal trailer for the Resident Evil Chapter of their 4v1 horror game. Surprisingly, it didn't feature anything from the new Resi and was purely throwback content, but it was a fun tease for the future collaboration that remains in the game.
