100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil
67. Welcome to Raccoon City's Cut Tyrant
Being an attempt a much more faithful cinematic adaptation of Resident Evil compared to Anderon's six prior films, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is worth watching once just for the odd winks and nods.
Some of these are very obvious, and a lot of the film tries hard to be an adaptation of the 2019 RE2 Remake but there's also a few more clever ones. Sherry Birkin has a nightmare about a green-skinned monster with yellow eyes which is description fitting of the Hunter Alpha. There's a poster advertising the First Aid Spray in the background of the orphanage. Chris' brown leather jacket and white shirt combo reflects his unlockable costume from the original game.
One reference was put together that never made the cut however, as a fully-formed Tyrant head was constructed and left floating in a jar in Birkin's lab. However, the shots that it appeared in didn't make the final edit.
It's a shame because it's a fun prop and clearly a labour of love. Hope that the Tyrant head is bobbing out there somewhere, peacefully.
