11 Hotly Anticipated Video Game Sequels That Would Dominate E3

8. Splinter Cell 8

Also covered in this E3 Predictions piece as it's something that with Ubisoft's continual push of Assassin's Creed and little else, seems like more of a bold wishlist inclusion than a dead-cert - but still, how awesome would a new Splinter Cell be? Once the proud corner-holder of the stealth trifecta alongside Metal Gear Solid and Hitman, since then Ubi decided the best way to continue the most serious gadget-heavy entry in the franchise was to make Sam Fisher a bedraggled homeless guy. They first showed off a terrible-looking melee system (which was later removed) before only giving you his iconic goggles far later on in what that game turned into, a personal story-heavy focus taking away the global espionage element fans loved so much. All that left the franchise dead in the water, something that despite 2013's Blacklist being a huge return to form, a lack of series' regular Michael Ironside as Fisher completely scuppered in terms of general recognition. Now Ubisoft are at a fork in the roads. Nobody on the planet wants another Watch Dogs, everyone's hankering for them to just simply stop with the Assassin's Creeds - and they have a franchise waiting in the wings that would score big points with old school gamers across the board. It's a no-brainer, right?
