11. The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

Okay, so this is an extremely weird one to start off with, and one I wouldn't believe if not for the sources backing it up. That said, it's been confirmed that the next Lord of the Rings game coming out won't be the third entry in WB's Middle-Earth series, but actually an RPG where you play as... Gollum.

That's right, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the tie-in is set for release in 2021, and will see players jump into the role of Gollum after he meets Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit. It was also revealed alongside the release date that the game will launch on PC and "all relevant console platforms at that time", which absolutely means PS5 and Xbox Scarlett.

As weird as it is, there could be something interesting in such a strange tie-in like this that takes more cues from the books than the films and other games. Even if it's bad, as long as players get to eat a bunch of fish like a madman and terrorise Samwise Gamgee it'll have some redeeming qualities.
